BACKLOG

So I go to transfer the blog history from the Myspace page and realize that Myspace automatically reformats every URL into some kind of Myspace link and if you copy/paste it somewhere else, it just takes you back to Myspace.........awesome. So I got to go through the entire history and re-paste every URL for the links. That was fun. Anyway, here it is. Enjoy.

Fitted Together

The first of many “Fitted Together” parties went down at Lakanuki in Mammoth last night. I couldn’t make it, but I heard it was a hit. Alex managed to click off a few photos between drinks and jot down his vague recollection of the nights timeline. Pay no attention to the lame myspace warning and just click on the link. We’re not trying to hack your profile or anything.

S.I.A.'s finally over!!

Thank God. I hate Vegas. I hate GES. And I hate wasting a week of my winter-time where there's no snow. Anyway, the show went well and at least the booth looked legit. The standard Vegas mayhem went down, usually fueled by too many of these. We also managed to get locked out of our hotel room, which sucked. Good thing we had a few of these on standby to pass the time.

Also, be sure to check out Hana's ad in Snowboard Mag's December issue.
I know it's late, but gimmie a break, I've been busy. Anyway, product has been shipped and should be in your local retailer. So come on, break out those wallets, Black Friday was 3 days ago. And finally, this profile should be redesigned sometime soon, but like I said, I'm kinda busy.

Busy, Busy

I know I'm slackin on the updates. Too many things to do. We've been getting the last Fall shipments out, finishing the website, and ironing out some new projects. Anyway, the profile should be updated around the same time the website goes up (real soon, promise). In the meantime, check out the video from rookie team rider David Gauthier that just got posted on Transworld.

Hot Dawgs 'N' Handrails

Bear Mountain threw their annual September rail contest. Basically it's a way for them to get everyone hyped on the upcoming season. Something nobody was hyped on was the huge forest fire burning right over the north side of the lake. It had burned 15,000 acres as of that weekend and parts of the city were ordered to evacuate. Put out those cigarette butts kids.

Anyway, The set-up was a little longer this year with a few more features. Honestly, I'm a little burned on contests and spent most of the time talking to people I hadn't seen in a while. But our boy Nick Dirks managed to take second place and Joe Sexton won himself "best trick", making his wallet $1000.00 thicker.

The afterparty was held at "B's Backyard Barbeque" and it definitely SHOULDN'T be held there next year. There was only one bartender and he was a complete douchebag. It literally took over an hour to get a drink, so a bunch of us decided to head over to local dive "Murray's" to get properly drunk and engage in some karaoke.

I didn't get any good photos, but Snowboard-mag.com posted a video and an article on the event.

Agenda

Our first appearance at Agenda went well. The booth was busy for both days and people seemed really hyped on the line. Personally, I hate most tradeshows, but the vibe at Agenda was mellow thanks, in part, to the free drinks and the DJ mixing some proper tunes the entire time.

Rooftop Pool Party

If you made it to our party at the Hotel Solamar, lemme know how it was. I didn’t even get to go because I was at the booth hustlin’ and the boozers from our crew got too blitzed to even take any photos. I heard they were given away all kinds of free garb though.

Runway Premier

The premier for Runway Films’ new video “La La Land” went down during all the madness of ASR/Agenda weekend. We put together some beanies (toques to you Canadians) for the promo tour, so make sure to attend when it hits your city. When we went to drop off the beanies, we got hassled by the craziest security guard ever. He wouldn’t even let us wait in the lobby for Jeff and Leanne to come down, then, when they did come down, the security guard yelled at them because he didn’t like us lurking around the lobby. So ridiculous. Anyway, the premier was held on a huge boat docked in the harbor right next to downtown SD. Somehow, I only managed to click off one photo the whole time I was there. Jacqui and Hana will probably hate it. I would’ve taken more, but was too busy getting free drinks for everyone who didn’t get a green wristband. Good movie, good people, good times. This pretty much sums up my day; drinking and talking/texting on this crappy phone.

Cover Shot

Elm Company lands it's first cover shot on Transworld Snowboarding's September issue. The cover features Elm's newest female representative, Hana Beaman, wearing the "Half Step" beanie while floating a pretty legit air to fakie on a sketchy looking wood feature. It's a little early to be thinking about snowboarding, but go pick up the issue anyway. Thanks Hana.

S.I.A.

Let me start off by saying that S.I.A. went REALLY well for us. Better than we had expected or were even ready for. This was the first year our booth didn't look homemade and the 07/08 line is ridiculous (good). The Elm/Snowboard Magazine fitted caps were a HUGE hit. Some girl apparently came by the booth and offered $100 for the "White Wedding" fitted. Personally, if I was at the booth when this occurred, I'd be $100 richer right now. The booth was busy pretty much all day, everyday. I didn't really even have much time to walk around and witness much of the standard S.I.A. craziness, but I did manage to catch some. I did see Evan Rose getting a bald spot shaved into the back of his head at "The Buzz" (a barber shop located behind The Program's boothspace. I also saw some drunken maniac getting all agro in front of the M4 booth, then passing out on one of their couches. When security came, they turned it into a bigger scene than it needed to be and Bruce from Cold Sports Dist got into it with security himself and told them to get the hell outta his booth. Volcom had a hippy theme this year and, as always, drinks were flowing daily and the scene in front of their booth was nothing less than chaos. Rome got busted for serving beverages of an alcoholic nature without prior consent from the management. Technine was handing out 40oz, so you know where I was around that time. Trevor Andrew and his band "Trouble" performed at "The Yard" on Tuesday afternoon and after the show, we were walking out and almost got in a fight with some dumbass kid with a $5 grill in his mouth. The kid was a total clown and I couldn't stop laughing at him. There was no rail jam this year, which is good cuz that crap was played out anyway. However, there was no shortage of wild drunkeness each night. Monday night we headed to Sapphire for Dingo's birthday. Personally, I don't know why everyone makes such a huge fuss over Dingo, but whatever, a party's a party and there were free drinks. We got there just in time to watch "Trouble" perform and I headed straight to the bar to order 4 Heinekens (hey, they were free and I didn’t want to have to wait to more later). Since it was the first night, there was lots of hand-shakin and knuckle-bumpin. The second group to perform was called The Pitbulls or something, but who cares, cuz they SUCKED!! The only good part was all the ladies they pulled on stage to shake it. Oh well though, I was just waiting for the main act, the one and only Rick Ross and it was worth the wait. Not only does he put on a good show, but he has one of the funniest entourages I've ever seen, including the grumpiest lookin bouncer EVER!! Tuesday night saw two party's held at the Hard Rock. One was apparently Bam Margera's bachelor party, which we went to first, but I think we got there a little early and it wasn't that great, so we headed over to the 686/New Era party cuz they had free drinks. I got super drunk and was having a great time until I got stuck in a 30 minute conversation with someone's mom (who will remain nameless) about contracts and sponsorship. Most of the rest of the night was kind of a blur, but I know I was up until about 4 or 5 in the morning. There was all kinds of other stuff going on too, but you’ll have to hear about those stories form someone else. We're just glad we had a really good show. Now go to your local shop and buy whatever's left of their 06/07 Elm Gear.

SO HERE WE ARE

Elm is now officially part of the "Blog-Sphere" (or whatever you nerds call it). We had a "news" section on the myspace page, but all the html code was causing the page to take forever to load. So from here on out, this is the place to be for the latest in Elm on-goings and such. Who knows, I might also post some ambiguous, useless information that has nothing to do with Elm, but I'm sure it will be interesting reagrdless.
