Ashbury Demo
If you missed it,...you missed out. Ashbury held the first ever team demo in snowboarding on Saturday. Yes, all snowboarders want to be just like skateboarders and now they're one step closer (maybe). All kidding aside, the demo was good times, no....great times highlighted by some equally great talent. Lucky for us, Elm and Ashbury share more than a handful of talented riders. Naturally, my camera ran out of batteries again, just as things were getting going. Fortunately for me though, there was no shortage of qualified photogs on scene taking much better photos than I ever could anyway. Here's a few from Liam Gallagher (check out the rest at transworld.net).
Jake Olson-Elm - switch back lip
Ben Bilocq - frontside rotational air with bonus grab
Larry - honestly, this could be anything and you probably can't do it.
Robbie Sell also takes much better photos than me. You can check them out at robbiesell.com. Here's some of his from the demo.
Nick Dirks - back noseblunt
Nima - switch back tail 270
Ben Rice - lipslide through the bender
Ned Casual - providing auditory enjoyment for everyone
After about 90 minutes or so, the course turned into a free-for-all progression session until the mountain staff decided it was time to wrap it up.
You wish you were there.

Shakedown
Ranked as one of the top 5 snowboard events world wide, Shakedown brings world-class pros and up-and-coming ams by invitation to Mont Saint-Sauveur, just outside of Montreal Canada. The two day event attracts tens-of-thousands of spectators and is being held this year on April 3rd and 4th.
As an official sponsor, Elmcompany got together with the Shakedown crew to produce 3 styles of fitted caps for the event.
Keep your eyes open for some of the Elm team in the mix this year, including last year's winner Charles Reid, who is sure to kill it again this year. Other Elm invites include Laurent-Nicolas Paquin, Silvia Mittermuller, Hana Beaman, Magalie Du Bois and Megan Ginter.

French Invasion
"Larrogs" came by today to pillage our sample inventory and confuse us with his bad english. He's the skinny guy throwin' the "peace" sign. Somebody once told me that if you're in Europe, throwin' the peace sign with your knuckles out is like throwin' the middle finger, so maybe Larrogs doesn't like being photographed? Anyway, him and some friends are out here for a bit handling some serious business, like visiting Magic Mountain.

Peace-Out Ankle!!
Justin Williams (from Force Trucks) had a little problem with a 5-0 grind in Florida...
........it hurts me just looking at that.
.... he was out there for Tampa Pro, but judging from all those bracelets on his wrist, he must be at a rave or something.

Langi On The Road
Andrew Langi has been on the road hitting a few spots here and there. He stopped by the newly opened Epic Skatepark to break everything in.
Then he jumped over the Florida to check out Stewy Skatepark in Hernando County, Florida for a change of scenery and a sweaty climate.

We're With Empire!!
ELMcompany is proud to announce we have joined forces with Empire Skateboard Distribution Company.
"Empire Skateboard Distribution Company is both excited and pleased to have ELMcompany under its distribution umbrella. Everyone here at Empire knows that Elm will complement the other brands we distribute". Distributing Elm will allow Empire to expand Elms distribution to our current and new customers, while providing them with top quality headwear from a respected brand in the headwear industry."
-Greg Carrol - CEO - Empire Skateboard Distribution
Empire Skateboard Distribution Company is owned and operated by skateboarders who respect and understand the culture of skateboarding. Together, they have over one-hundred years of experience as: amateur and professional skateboarders, employees in the skateboarding industry, and company owners. The partners who make up Empire have a reputation of being highly credible and respected.
"We're very excited to join with Empire and see our brand grow to its full potential. Empire is run by real people with our same respect for our culture, not suits obsessed with "margins" and "units". The decision was easy for us, and based on the growth of their existing brands, we're fully confident that Empire will give Elm the structure and service we need to expand our position in the market."

Good Samaritan
I stumbled across Ben Rice in the street the other night. He said he was stranded in L.A. for a few days,.....
so I brought him to the office to do some work. Things were going well for a bit.....
Then he opened up the fridge and it was all over.....
Ben's heavy workload....
Power nap...
He's just not cut out for the office, so I put him back where I found him.

In-Depth
Let's take a closer look at a few of the Spring styles on store shelves now.
The Collegiate fitted draws inspiration from athletics, which takes styling hints such as chenille embroidered logos and traditional wool blend fabrics.
The Country Club utilizes our "Country Club Plaid" with black accents to compliment the color schemes within the plaid.
Though corduroy is more traditionally a Winter fabric, The Valero incorporates mesh in the back panels to make it breath for the warmer months ahead. The leaf logo raises above the thick wales of the corduroy on the front of the cap, which also find their way on the brim.
The Homerun fitted takes it back to the basics with more wearable, everyday designs. A baseball influence is obvious with the traditional wool blend fabrics and team inspired colorways.
The Foot Soldier utilizes mesh and a printed camouflage pattern. We chose to forego the top stitch on the brim of this fitted to make room for the embroidered star patches which compliment the military style flip on the Wings logo.
Check out Strictly Fitteds, Hypebeast, & CtotheJL.com for more details. Big thanks for the support.
